Mace Construct will adopt the name Forco from the new year, the UK contractor has said, describing the new identity as "short, impactful and easy to pronounce."
The business has traded as Mace Construct since March, when Mace Construct and Mace Consult became two separate businesses under an agreement that left the Mace brand with the consultancy arm. It will continue under the Mace Construct name until the new year before moving to Forco.
The rename is to be accompanied by a new corporate strategy, to be unveiled alongside productivity targets running through to 2030.
Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said Mace Construct — soon to be Forco — had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward. He said the new name represented a commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030.
Reynolds added that while the name and brand were changing, the qualities that made the business one of the UK's most respected contractors had not: its culture, its values and its people. Clients, he said, could expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last.
The announcement gave no further detail on the content of the new strategy or on how the 2030 productivity targets will be measured.
