ELEGOO has launched the M1 Ultra, its first all-in-one smart 3D scanner, taking the Chinese 3D printing brand into a new product category. The scanner went on sale on October 29, 2026, at a standard retail price of $1,699, with early-bird pricing of $1,599 through November 12.
ELEGOO is positioning the M1 Ultra for professional work in customization, reverse engineering, education, digital archiving and other creative projects. Kevin Wang, co-founder and vice president, said the company aimed to combine precision, versatility and workflow efficiency in one integrated solution, making advanced scanning more accessible. He described the launch as a step in expanding ELEGOO’s 3D creation ecosystem and linking physical objects with digital workflows.
Capture hardware and accuracy
The M1 Ultra is specified with blue-laser scanning accuracy of up to 0.02 mm and volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm plus 0.06 mm per meter. ELEGOO calls this level of precision metrology-grade. The device uses an all-glass optical system, intelligent temperature compensation and high-precision camera calibration to help maintain consistent performance, according to the company. Global-shutter cameras are intended to reduce motion blur and distortion during scanning.
The scanner also captures color, using 24-bit full-color texture mapping with image signal processing optimization. That allows users to record an object’s geometry and surface appearance together.
Five scanning modes
ELEGOO has equipped the M1 Ultra with five modes for different objects and tasks. A 34-line blue-laser mode is intended for medium-to-large objects, while a 7-line blue-laser mode targets fine details on small-to-medium parts. A single-line blue-laser mode is designed for deep holes, narrow gaps and other hard-to-reach areas.
An infrared structured-light mode covers face, body and object scanning. A fifth, marker-free blue-laser mode offers an option for surfaces where markers are impractical. The scanner supports objects from 5 × 5 × 5 mm³ to 4,000 × 4,000 × 4,000 mm³. ELEGOO also says it can scan black and metallic surfaces without coating powder, giving more flexibility across materials and environments.
Portable operation and software
The M1 Ultra has a 3-inch HD touchscreen for direct operation, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and a 4,800 mAh swappable battery that supports up to 1.5 hours of wireless scanning. ELEGOO describes the handheld body as lightweight and ergonomic for use across different workspaces and settings.
ELEGOO SCAN software is designed to take scan data through to a usable 3D model. Guided setup, tracking assistance and multi-scan alignment are intended to simplify capture, while automated one-click processing handles mesh wrapping, mesh optimization and color mapping. The software exports STL, OBJ, PLY and ASC files for compatible third-party programs, for downstream design, modeling and manufacturing workflows.
Pricing and competitive context
Standard prices are $1,699, EUR 1,699, GBP 1,399, CAD 2,399 and JPY 299,999. During the early-bird period from October 29 to November 12, prices are $1,599, EUR 1,599, GBP 1,319, CAD 2,299 and JPY 284,999. The scanner is available now, according to ELEGOO.
The launch places ELEGOO in a market where consumer 3D brands are extending into scanning. Creality, for example, introduced the Pika 3D scanner at IFA 2026 as part of a broader lineup; it uses a seven-line blue laser and near-infrared scanning in a 260 g body, with 0.03 mm accuracy and scan speeds up to 110 fps. Revopoint’s Trackit SR wireless scanner offers marker-free optical tracking with 0.02 mm single-frame accuracy and a deep-hole mode using a single blue laser line. 3DMakerpro’s Toucan is designed for on-device scanning, editing and fusion without a computer.
For ELEGOO, the M1 Ultra extends its product ecosystem beyond 3D printing. As consumer brands add scanning, object capture is becoming part of the same workflow as making, and ELEGOO is now competing on both sides.
